New Sarah Mac song - Julie
JULIE by SARAH MAC is a moving and beautiful tribute to Sarah's late piano and vocal coach, Julie Bingham, who sadly passed away earlier this year. It's been on repeat on The Ale House Blog's playlist tonight. It's one of those songs that make you well up a little bit inside. It's a stunning track with echoes of Carole King, have a listen to it here

Who will the champion brewer be? The house classic Saltaire, or the new boy Salamander, or maybe even Magic Rock?
We've got 10 months to decide and a lot of ale to drink before we get there...

Our first two entries are: Salamander Mudpuppy & Dark Star Hophead

Honey Pie Tearoom
The Ale House Blog popped into The Honey Pie Tearoom the other day after seeing their write up in The Sheffield Telegraph. It's a lovely snuggly warm place. Service is provided with a smile and the cakes are out of this world, and you get a good old slab of it too. They've got Tea's galore and an excellent cup of coffee as well.
We're usually all about the real ale here on The Ale House Blog but if ever you're in a teetotal mood you should deffo get down and check out The Honey Pie Tea Room
Meersbrook has been crying out for a place this and we wish them all the best.

Formed in March 2011, The Canyon are a 4 piece band - all local with the
ethos of playing music from an era and a place (Laurel Canyon, California)
which brought us bands such as The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Mamas & The
Papas, Crosby Stills Nash & Young and many more.
"We want our audience to enjoy the music as much as we enjoy performing
it" says John Swift, founder member of The Canyon. The band members as
individuals, and collectively have a passion for the music from this genre -
and it shows.

The Ale House : The Movie
Caricatures in the Pub
We had a great night last night with demonpen. Where else could you get a caricature drawn for free while you sup a nice pint? There was fun and laughter and plenty of worried looks all around! It also hasn't gone unoticed how Tony & Julie managed to get away with not having their pictures drawn!
